Makeup edits work best on a clean base. Take a photo facing a window, without filters or heavy makeup, hair pulled back. Side light or coloured lamps get baked into the result and make the makeup look muddy.
Lock the face, not just the skin
Image models love to 'beautify': slimmer jaw, bigger eyes, lighter skin. Every prompt here freezes features and skin tone and changes only the makeup. If a result still looks like a different person, regenerate rather than editing on top of the bad version.
Describe makeup by zones
