Start with a flexible selfie
A half-body photo in soft daylight against a plain wall gives the model your face, hair and build without fighting existing scenery. Avoid strong coloured light, because the model will copy it into a scene where it doesn't belong.
Light is everything
The difference between 'real holiday snap' and 'cut-out' is light. Each prompt names the time of day; sunrise and golden hour flatter skin and hide small mismatches. If you change the time, change the outfit too: no summer dresses in the Forbidden City snow.
Mind scale and position
Ask for a specific spot ('on a terrace with the tower behind me', 'on the promenade across the river') instead of 'in front of the landmark'. It gives the model a realistic distance and stops you towering over buildings.
Keep crowds and text out
