What is the AI baby generator trend?
Couples, best friends and even celebrity fans upload two face photos to an image model that accepts multiple references, then ask it to imagine the child those two people might have. The result is a soft, photorealistic baby or toddler portrait that mixes features from both photos: eye shape from one, hair colour or smile from the other.
It took off on TikTok, Xiaohongshu and Douyin because the reveal is instantly shareable: post the two parent photos, then the baby, and let friends vote on who the baby looks like. Newer image models (Doubao, Jimeng, Gemini's image editing) keep faces far more consistent than the old face-morph apps, so the results look much more convincing.
Just for fun. An AI baby portrait is an artistic guess, not a genetic prediction. Real children inherit traits in ways no image model can forecast. Only use photos of people who have agreed to it.

Pick two clear photos
Front-facing, well lit, no sunglasses or heavy filters, one face per photo. Similar lighting in both photos helps the blend.

Tips for better AI baby portraits
Why two references matter
The trend depends on a model that can look at two faces at once. When you upload both parents in one message, the model can borrow specific features from each. If you upload only one photo, or a single photo with both parents in it, the result usually looks like one parent. Use two separate photos taken in similar light, and upload them in the same order every time.
Steer which features come from whom
You can ask for particular traits, as prompt #08 does: 'Parent A's eye shape, Parent B's smile'. Models follow these hints loosely, so name only two or three features. Asking for everything at once makes the face look generic. If the result leans too much toward one parent, swap the order of the photos or mention more features from the other parent.
Get the age right
Babies change quickly, and models are sensitive to the age you write. '6-month-old baby' gives round cheeks and little hair; '1-year-old toddler' gives a more defined face; '5-year-old child' gives a school-age look with adult-like proportions. Match the clothes and setting to the age (a romper for a baby, a backpack for a child) so the picture feels consistent.
Realistic, cartoon or keepsake
Photorealistic prompts are the most shareable, but they can feel uncanny if the face is slightly off. Pixar-style 3D and guofeng illustration prompts are more forgiving and often make nicer keepsakes. Whatever style you choose, look at the hands and ears before you share: they are where AI mistakes show most.
Privacy and kindness
Only use photos of people who agreed, and think twice before posting AI images of a real child's face. Treat the result as a fun picture, not as a prediction or as something to compare with a real baby later.
